    Deposit and Transfer Questions

  • Yes. You can arrange for direct deposits from outside sources into your account. Direct deposits are established by the institution or business that is sending the funds to OWB. In addition, you can arrange for interest earned on other OWB accounts to be transferred into any of your checking/savings with us.

    To fund your new account by check, write a check payable in your name (include your first & last name), on the back of the check write, "for deposit only", and include your new account number. Mail the check to: OneWest Bank, a division of CIT Bank, N.A. P.O. Box 7056 Pasadena, CA 91109-9699

    Direct Deposit is set up at the institution or business from which the deposit is being sent. For instance, if you would like to deposit a portion of your paycheck, you would need to ask your employer if they offer that option and fill out your company’s forms to start the process. You will need to provide your account number at OWB and our routing number: 322270288. If you need any further assistance, please call the Client Care Center at 877.741.9378.

    If depositing a check by mail, write "for deposit only" and include your account number on the back of the checks. Mail the checks to: OneWest Bank - P.O. Box 471, Santa Monica, CA 90406-0471

    To make a deposit by ACH, you will need to provide the sender with your OWB account number and our routing number: 322270288.

    You can make deposits as often as you like and there is no minimum amount for each deposit.

    Generally, funds in your deposit account at OWB are insured up to $250,000 per owner by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).However, OneWest Bank, a division of CIT Bank, N.A. and CIT Bank, N.A. are the same FDIC-insured institution. Deposits held under each name are not separately insured, but are combined to determine whether a depositor has exceeded the $250,000 federal deposit insurance limit, per depositor for each account ownership category. For purposes of calculating aggregate deposits held in OneWest Bank, a division of CIT Bank, N.A., you should include deposits held in CIT Bank, N.A.

    Our stop payment fee is $20, which is effective for six months. This applies to stop payments on OWB official checks, ACH payments, and checks you've written against your OWB checking or money market account. If you need to renew the stop payment at the end of six months, there is an additional $20 renewal fee.

    Online Banking internal transfers completed before 5 PM (PST) will be posted to the account on the same business day. Internal transfers made after 5 PM (PST) will be posted to the account on the next business day.

    To remove an external transfer account from your online banking profile, you will need to send us a secure message request from within your online banking or call the customer Contact Center. To process your request, you will need to provide the external bank name and the account number.

    To delete or edit a scheduled external transfer, click on the “All” tabs within your online banking account followed by “Transactions”, and “Scheduled External Transfers”. Then select the “edit” or “delete” links next to the desired transfer to make your change.

    To confirm that a transfer was successful or that a transaction has posted:

    1. Log into Online Banking.
    2. Click the Accounts tab.
    3. Click the account you wish to view in the Account Activity portion of the screen.
    4. Scroll down the page to view the account history.
    5. Confirm transfer.

     

    You may schedule an internal transfer up to the account available balance, not exceeding $2,000,000.
    You may schedule an external transfer up to the account available balance, not exceeding $2,000,000.
